________________________ Spreading the Love of Reading One Book at a Time _______________________
This blog is for anyone whoever picked up a book and couldn't put it down. It's for anyone who loves to read and reads often. It's for anyone like me who's been seduced by a book and can't wait to discuss it.

The Iron King (Iron Fey #1) by Julie Kagawa
I truly wanted to love this one, but for some reason I just didn't :( I felt like someone tried to merge A Midsummer Night's Dream (yes, she used the actually characters from the story) with Alice in Wonderland (mainly due to the Cheshire cat like creature) and added a touch of modern technology. I can't seem to put my finger on what I didn't like so maybe I just wasn't in the mood for the book? I just don't know.
10 years ago at the age of 6 Meghan's father disappeared. He didn't die, didn't leave, he just vanished into thin are. Poof and he was gone. The only thing left were the shoes he'd been wearing and that was it. Meghan was with him that day and in the time it took her to rush to the ice-cream truck, get her ice-cream, and turn around he was gone. Shortly thereafter Meghan's mom moved them far away and the two built a new life together. To Meghan it felt like they were running away and 10 years later she'll finally find out why.
I'm giving this one 3 out of 5 stars.
